I am Professor of Interorganizational Management & Control at Ulm University and Scientific Director of the International Performance Research Institute (IPRI).

My research focuses on management accounting and control, performance measurement and evaluation, and employee motivation and behavior. A particular focus of my work is understanding how accounting information and management control systems affect employee decisions and performance. Methodologically, I am particularly interested in field experiments that examine these questions in real-world organizational settings.

My research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Accounting Research, Management Science, Contemporary Accounting Research, and the Journal of Management Control.

Research and Practice

In addition to my academic research, I work at the intersection of research and practice, collaborating with organizations on management control, performance measurement, business analytics, and artificial intelligence.

I also contribute to the transfer of research into practice through executive education, practitioner publications, and public media.
